Reasonable gap of punching die: Generally, the gap value of the punching die with the thickness of the stamping material within 2mm can be less than 10%. If the burrs of 5052 aluminum plate are required to be small, it can be about 5% (bilateral gap).

When the blanking die gap is reasonable, the upper and lower cracks generated by the material at the mouth of the punch and die can be overlapped at the same position. In this way, the bright zone area of the blanking section is relatively large, while the slump and burr are small, the fracture taper is moderate, and the surface of the part is relatively smooth.

5052 aluminum plate blanking parts can get more satisfactory quality. When the gap is small, the mold life is also small, but the quality of the obtained parts is better. When the gap is large, the mold life is also large, but the quality of the obtained parts is poor.
